Phone Room and Coat
Closet LCK INTERIORS, Telephone Room and Coat
Closet, 2005 Baltimore Symphony Decorator's Show House "La Ruche"
Reminiscent of the era in which the home was
built, the eccentricities of nooks and spaces that are so rare in newer homes
need special treatment. The architecture alone is indicative of a
custom era, with a curved wall and curved door to fit perfectly. These
particular spaces suggest excitement and romance, evoking high
fashion and frivolity that is often characteristic of the roaring 20’s. The
Phone Room adorned with seat, large mirrors, and a subtle window
treatment to lightly dress but not detract from the petite windows; and not to
forget a delicate demi-lune console for the phone, of course. All set against a
back drop of sophisticated soft turquoise and copper diamond patterned vintage
wall paper, and a rich copper metallic paint on the ceiling. The Coat Closet papered
the same, with complementing window treatment is filled with all the accessories
imaginable hidden away in the hall closet evoking anticipation of travel and
grand parties.
